Using First Signs with Infants and Toddlers
This training will enable early educators to help infants and toddlers communication more effectively through the use of simple sign language. Using first signs taps into how young toddlers naturally communicate with the world around them. The use of sign language enables young toddlers to communicate effectively during the pre-verbal stage of language development. Using first signs reduces tantrums, aggressive behavior, and reduces noise levels in the classroom. Implementing simple signs stimulates and reinforces growth in developmental domains such as; fine motor, self-help skills, language, cognition, and problem solving skills. Participants will engage in group activities, view videos, hear parent perceptive, receive online resources, and take away practical strategies that can be implemented in the classroom immediately.
