Participants will understand the meaning of challenging behaviors and why young children demonstrate challenging behaviors to communicate. Download Flyer. Challenging behavior is one way children communicate to tell you what he or she needs or wants. When children do not know the appropriate way to express their needs or wants, they will use challenging behavior to communicate. In this training, participants will compare and contrast teaching strategies to effectively build positive relationships.
Participants will also collaborate in implementing new, more effective and appropriate strategies to teach young children how to express their needs and wants. Early educators will practice specific language to use when speaking and interacting with children, discuss the Zone of Proximal Development for best outcomes, and the teaching strategies to develop authentic relationships. Developmental milestones will be reviewed and implemented in small groups. This training will allow participants to modify their teaching approach to a more positive method of engaging all two year old children.
